..COOLER AND WETTER WEATHER EXPECTED THROUGH THIS WEEKEND...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA INTO
EASTERN ARIZONA BY SATURDAY...AND THEN PUSH EAST ACROSS NEW MEXICO
SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. DEEP SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE WRAPPING
AROUND THIS STRENGTHENING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BRING
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO MUCH OF EASTERN UTAH AND
WESTERN COLORADO. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL CAN BE EXPECTED...
ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS
FROM CORTEZ EAST TO PAGOSA SPRINGS. SOME SNOW WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGH MOUNTAIN PASSES...INCLUDING COAL
BANK...MOLAS...RED MOUNTAIN...SLUMGULLION AND LIZARD HEAD. SNOW
LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT OR ABOVE 10000 FEET.

RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS EXCEEDING ONE INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER
THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND...WITH HIGH MOUNTAIN SNOWFALL UP TO 6 INCHES
POSSIBLE. LIGHTER ACCUMULATIONS OF RAIN AND SNOW ARE EXPECTED
FROM INTERSTATE 70 NORTH TO THE WYOMING STATE LINE.

EVEN WITH THE COOLER WEATHER SLOWING HIGH MOUNTAIN SNOWMELT...
SMALL CREEKS...STREAMS AND RIVERS MAY STILL SEE INCREASED FLOWS
DUE TO THE WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION.

TAKE THE TIME NOW TO PREPARE FOR THE EXPECTED COOLER AND WETTER
CONDITIONS OVER THIS MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND. MONITOR THE
LATEST FORECAST BY VISITING OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.WEATHER.GOV/GJT.
